Tungsten Carbide Rings
Tungsten Carbide rings are used in the manufacturing of mill rolls for extended life in applications where long rolling campaigns are required. Their extreme hardness makes them suitable for wire rods finishing blocks and some shaping applications. The cemented carbides rolls are divided into the conventional WC-Co alloys and the corrosion resistant alloys with a mixed binder Co-Ni-Cr. The binder contents vary according to the specific requirements of the rolling mill.
Properties
Tungsten Carbide Guide Rollers have extremely high wear resistance, strength and toughness. Compared with ordinary steel, the service life is extended ten times. It can be used stably and long-term even in harsh abrasion environments.
As far as the materials for our products, there are two series as Wc-Co and Wc-Co-Ni-Cr which possess the good comprehensive mechanical properties. The bending strength and impact toughness reach 2200 Mpa and (4-6)x106J/m3 respectively. Its hardness and wear resistance comes from tungsten carbide (Wc) while the toughness and strength depend on the binding agent (Co-Ni-Cr).
